I know what it's like to have my world come crashing down in a brutal way. I graduated from Dartmouth College and played professional soccer as a goalkeeper overseas. In Africa, I took a prescribed medication to prevent malaria, and it built up toxic levels in my system. My career was taken away, and I was fighting for my life for a year. I was pushed to the brink physically, emotionally, and mentally. I would never want anyone to endure what I went through. Yet, in those years I learned how to find and spread a deep and authentic hope.
